Healthcare runs on systems that rarely reconcile. The specialist’s rooms, admissions, radiology and the after-care team each capture the same patient again, and the money is decided at booking but collected at discharge, if it’s collected at all.
Asterion connects the journey instead of adding another system to it. The hospital’s core system, the claims switch and the finance ledger stay. The paper, the phone calls and the manual steps between them go.
What you get
- One patient, captured once. Pre-admission is done digitally before the patient arrives, and the record follows them through theatre, recovery and the account.
- A theatre list built from bookings. Sessions and cases are booked in one place, so nobody reconciles four diaries at the end of the day.
- Money settled when it’s known. Deposits and co-payments worked out from the scheme, plan and procedure at booking, not waived after discharge.
- Every account line checked before it leaves. Tariff, quantities, pre-authorisation and coding, with a pre-flight that stops a bad claim before the switch sees it.
- A front door that answers. Voice and chat agents book, cancel and answer questions at any hour, in the patient’s own language.
- Practices and hospital on one booking. A theatre request from a practice diary opens the pre-admission, and the discharge summary comes back to the practice with the patient’s consent.
The modules
Delivered, not proposed
For a large private hospital group in Southern Africa we built an operations portal around the throughput and revenue-leakage problems the executive team raised first: patient flow across outpatients, lab, radiology and casualty, discharge tracking that names the blocking stage, an AI call centre, billing review and a patient app, all on one intelligence layer.
On two hospital billing engagements, every line of two billing cycles and nine inpatient episodes was reconciled and reproduced independently, to the cent.
The public demo has since gone further than the engagement did. It runs in all eleven South African official languages, with patient flow, discharge, billing review, pre-triage and the call centre in one place.
Start by mapping one patient journey. We follow it from the first booking to the final bill on records you already hold, and show where the patient is captured twice and where money leaves the account.
