Asterion Industrial Intelligence ("Asterion", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website at aiasterion.com and the Asterion industrial intelligence platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. It includes specific disclosures about data accessed through the LinkedIn APIs.

- Correspondence: information you provide when you email us or otherwise communicate with us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address and basic request metadata, used for security, rate limiting, and spam prevention on our enquiry form.
Information from LinkedIn
When an authorised representative of Asterion connects our LinkedIn integration, we access a limited set of data through the LinkedIn APIs in order to publish and manage content. See Section 3 for full detail.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries, schedule diagnostics, and provide requested information about our platform and services;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and platform;
- Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of our forms and services;
- Publish and manage Asterion's own marketing content on our LinkedIn presence; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
3. LinkedIn Data and the LinkedIn APIs
Asterion uses the LinkedIn APIs to share and post content to LinkedIn on behalf of our own organisation. Our use of information received from LinkedIn APIs complies with the LinkedIn API Terms of Use and the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
Scope of access. When an authorised Asterion administrator authenticates via LinkedIn, we access only the data needed to publish and manage posts on our own profile or company page. This may include the administrator's basic profile information (such as name and member identifier) and the authorisation needed to create and manage shares on their behalf.
How we use LinkedIn data
- To authenticate the administrator authorising the connection;
- To create, schedule, publish, and manage Asterion's own posts and shares on LinkedIn; and
- To confirm the status of content we have published.
What we do not do
- We do not post on behalf of third parties without their explicit authorisation;
- We do not use LinkedIn data to build profiles of LinkedIn members for advertising;
- We do not sell, rent, or share LinkedIn data with third parties; and
- We do not store LinkedIn data longer than necessary for the purposes above.
Access tokens obtained through LinkedIn are stored securely and are used solely to perform the actions you have authorised. You may revoke Asterion's access at any time from your LinkedIn account settings under Data privacy → Permitted services.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: with hosting, infrastructure, and tooling providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
- Legal and safety: where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Asterion or others; and
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Enquiry data is retained for as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your request. LinkedIn data and access tokens are retained only while the integration remains authorised and are deleted upon revocation.
6. Data Security
We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and secure handling of authentication credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You may also revoke our LinkedIn access at any time through your LinkedIn account settings.
8. International Transfers
Asterion serves clients in asset-intensive industries worldwide. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.
9. Children's Privacy
Our website and platform are intended for business use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
